Ramblings from my morning

I'm struggling to find a balance in this whole taking care of two kids thing. Obviously the newest needs most of my attention, but it seems unfair to Landon. Plus, my patience with him is running short. I know it's not his fault and he wants attention too, but when he screams loudly excitedly and makes the baby cry I have to remember he's still little and he's not doing it to be malicious. On a different note, Landon is a tornado. I never realized how obnoxious kids toys were until he decided to press the buttons on multiple toys repeatedly and rapidly to cause them to freak out. It makes me want to pull the batteries out, but thats not fair to take away his fun even when its mind numblingly obnoxious. Weston is still waking up every few hours at night. Some nights are better than others and he'll sleep a few hour stretches. Some nights he's up every hour. I'm not expecting him to sleep through the night anytime soon, and would really like it if people stopped asking "is he sleeping through the night yet?" No. He's not. He's a baby. This is what babies do. But I am REALLY loving cosleeping. It makes him a little more dependent on me during the day, but if theres one thing I've learned with Landon, it's that the time goes by so quickly, so I'll soak up all the baby cuddles while I can. I'm on cup of coffee #2. I still don't feel human, but Landon, Weston and I are all cuddled up on the couch watching Supernatural, so it's a good day mostly! Landon gets SO excited over this TV show. He runs around and excitedly screams "SUPA MAT UAL!" and claps when Sam and Dean defeat whatever evil it is they're facing in each episode. This is probably a result of me binge watching all the seasons during my 6 week maternity leave with him, haha.

Hungry baby has no standards

My favorite part of new baby's is there adorable talent for latching at the first thing they touch.

We ventured out today for the first time in, well, a while. I don't get out as much as I used to anymore, and now with two kids it kind of feels like wrestling a greased alligator uphill between getting the kids ready, getting in and out of the car, and walking around with them both. And that's with Billy's help. I imagine how much harder it would be with just me and the kids, and I shudder.

Weston is reaching the stage where when he's upset he wants absolutely nothing to do with billy. He will cry and scream until I get him. I can tell it's upsetting Billy that he's not able to comfort him but he knows it's only a stage.

It was chilly, and despite me wearing Weston, he was still shivering anytime we had to walk outside. As much as I wish hibernation were an option in order to protect him from the elements, it seems unrealistic.

All day Landon was imitating everything Billy said, watching him intently and then trying to mimic what he said and the gestures he paired with it. He idolizes his dad in a way thats both awe inspiring and jealousy inducing. He's also doing excellently with potty training. He wears his underwear when we go out and has had no accidents so far; in fact, in the last month he's only had 1 accident. We didn't push it on him at all, he just took to it on his own and started going more and more. I thought with Weston being born, he would regress with the progress he had made on his own, but it was the exact opposite- he got it down even quicker. He is also a master at being adorable to get what he wants.

I'm looking into buying some Osnaburg fabric and dye offline to make and customize a secondary wrap. I'm liking wrapping so much more than the Ergo- it's easier to nurse him and it breathes a little better so he doesn't overheat.

This will be an interesting venture in writing an actual substance blog, so bear with me as I figure it all out!
